The UTXO Address

TL;DR

Your wallet has two addresses: the regular address and the UTXO address. If you are already a Rare Pepe Wallet user, you can continue using your regular address as you always have. You now have the option to attach Pepes to UTXOs and use the UTXO address for additional features such as atomic swaps. The tab in the top right allows you to toggle between the two addresses to view the contents of each.

Regular Address vs UTXO Address

Your regular address is for Pepes and Bitcoin (BTC) while your UTXO address is for UTXO-attached Pepes ONLY. Pepes can be moved from your regular address to your UTXO address using the ATTACH button above each Pepe. They can also be moved back to your regular address using the DETACH button that appears above each Pepe when the collection is toggled to UTXO mode.

Where does the UTXO address come from?

The UTXO address is derived using the change address path for each address in your wallet. Since Counterparty does not currently utilize change addresses, there is no risk of accidentally spending utxo-attached pepes in another wallet.

Atomic Swaps

When a Pepe is attached to a UTXO, it inherits some Bitcoin functionality. This allows the Pepe to be swapped with Bitcoin (BTC) in a peer-to-peer manner. Sellers can create a sell offer for their utxo-attached Pepe using the SELL button. Buyers match the offer with the specified amount of Bitcoin (BTC) to complete the transaction and broadcast to the network.
